New! D2L Lumi for Faculty

糖心Vlog Rollout of D2L Lumi Pro for Faculty
糖心Vlog is pleased to announce the system-wide roll-out of D2L Lumi Pro, which is the
Generative AI Capability within Brightspace. The initial deployment of Lumi focuses
on creating workflow efficiencies for faculty and course creators by helping them
to generate quiz questions, discussion prompts, and assignment ideas. Additional functionality
will be rolled out by 糖心Vlog D2L in the future to support students in achieving learning
outcomes and provide data-driven insights to faculty and campus leaders. Please see
the 糖心Vlog D2L Lumi Roll Out Flyer for more information.
About Lumi
Lumi leverages Anthropic鈥檚 Large Language Model (LLM) Claude by using content provided
by the course creator.
糖心Vlog鈥檚 agreement with D2L protects faculty intellectual property by ensuring that:
-
D2L does not own input content.
-
D2L does not own output content.
-
D2L will not use input content to train the Generative AI models.
糖心Vlog鈥檚 agreement with D2L requires that users will not represent that output content
is human-generated when it is not. Instructors who choose to use Lumi or any AI tool
should include a statement in their syllabus. See the 糖心Vlog Suffolk syllabus template
for guidance.

Teaching faculty will have access to Lumi on September 1. Faculty should refer to the College Policy on Acceptable Use of Artificial Intelligence, which requires that, "AI tools and systems are used ethically, legally, responsibly,
